Quote for the Day
I have asked the LORD for one thing —
this is what I desire!
I want to live in the LORD’s house all the days of my life,
so I can gaze at the splendor of the LORD
and contemplate in his temple.
I have asked the LORD for one thing —
this is what I desire!
I want to live in the LORD’s house all the days of my life,
so I can gaze at the splendor of the LORD
and contemplate in his temple.

Just that little bit of a psalm brings my mind and heart back to God. I had a friend say to me how we were getting older and would end up in a nursing home before too long. The words, “surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”. These words came out of me so fast and sure, I was amazed at what I had said.It was like someone else saying them through me.I have always been consoled when I recall this. judy

One of my recent favorite authors made the simple statement that “the main purpose of prayer is intimacy with God.”
Amen!

I’m brought to tears every time we use a song based on this psalm:
“One thing I ask, this alone I seek, to dwell in the house of the Lord all my days.
For one day within your temple heals every day alone,
O Lord, bring me to your dwelling.”
